Merry Christmas! A, musical cookie tin

Got a small gift from work! So cool! A music box, cookie tin! I’ll first put the entire recording, internal mics, Zoom H1 Essential. It’s quite processed, cause I talk to you, through the tin, and it’s kind of crazy how much the tin cuts sound. Below that recording will be just normalised clips of the tin.

Guild Acoustic bass, and Taylor Acoustic multitrack test

I’ve Wanted an Acoustic bass for several years. My goal is to record an unplugged album with a lot of my tracks. I settled on the Guild Guitars Westerly Collection B-240E. It’s a 4 string, that both plays and sounds really great!!

It arrived today from Amazon, and I tracked a quick and dirty test with my Taylor Grand Theator, using my Rode NT 4 mic. I am in love!! The guitars pare great together!! Listen below.

Creating a Music Video as a totally blind producer

I have always been totally blind, but Visuals, have always interested me. I signed up for a class at work a month ago to better understand visual graphs and charts from an annalyst prospective, as I work in telephone Systems by day.

Over the past 6 months, I have really been interested in writing to an AI bot, and having my words, turned into images. Doing this with cartoon style images fassinates me. I use an app called, Chat Box AI, create the picture, save it to my photo role, and then use Seing AI to see what the AI created, a very interesting use case for AI in, and out. Most times the images are what I think, but, with more detail. Others, they are different, but, still fit the mold.

A couple months ago, I started putting cartoon images out on FB, as a kind of experiment, how, would they be reacted to? Would I receive more likes because it is visual, primarily, I have more sighted folks as friends? They have gotten a lot of clicks. That is awesome. I think, if I were sighted, I would like to draw, as a passtime.

About a month ago now, I posted Eddies Funeral on Drew Sound. A track I wrote as a kid. I wanted to post it on FB, but, thought, it may be better received, if it had a slideshow of Cartoon images along with the audio, to help sighted folks connect. I don’t normally feel like that about a song I’ve written.

I was able to use Chat Box Ai, and Apples IMovie, to acomplish the task. IMovie is interesting to work with. It is accessible, but, their are parts that are not, such as transition times. The standard transition is, 4 seconds. You can’t adjust it, it seems. The song is just under 3 minutes, so, I had to have about 45 images, to fill the time. It took a lot of brain power to think of that much visual content. At the same time though, hopefully, it keeps sighted viewers engaged, instead of the same images rotating. From what I’ve heard from Facebook viewers the images got the audios point across!

It’s not something that I will do every day, but, thinking visually, does bring another demention to what I do, as a totally blind artist.

Lets fly to Kochi Japan! Binaural 3D Audio. headphones recommended.

My wife Robin took a trip to Japan, brought me home an epic t-shirt! and, loads of incredible audio! Lets live vicariously through Robin, as she takes us through the city of Kochi.

The below audio is not processed in anyway, as is the presentation above, to bring up levels. The below audio when listened back to on Airpods max will be truly Binaural,, immersive. These recordings, clips are the same audio as heard above, but not processed.

My latest track I used all my old gear to record.

I tracked drums on my Roland kit that’s in my bro’s basement in August. It was like you have about 30 minutes to take this, so, get it right! lol. I hadn’t played drums in a few years. Didn’t use a click track, all the music was in my head, tracked into my H1 essential out of the headphones jack of the brain.

I tracked guitars this last weekend at dads. Guild Songbird for acoustics, Custum Fender Strat for electrics, and my bad ass Schector active 5 string bass!!! Man, I miss those axes! Ran them into my Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp, out the usb C, into windows box, using Reper.

I wrote lyrics, and tracked vocals on my couch last night, just like the old times!

Lyrically, the track is about coming back to meaning in life, God, or whatever that is for you. How that can be tough sometimes.

#NewMusic One More Night,

This one’s been floating around the brain for 4 or 5 months. I’m still getting used to it. I think it would sound dope with Morgan Wallens Voice on it. In saying that, I don’t have Morgans voice. Haha.

I had never written a song really, before about a relationship gone bad. It’s interesting to write those lyrics when every thing is perfect for me, in mine. I like how it builds into EDM in the hook. As always!!! Thanks for listening!
