This post is showing using the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally 7” handheld xBox with JAWS, as a Windows PC for use with StationPlaylist, not actually gaming with the device. First audio is a quick overview of the device, and talking about how I’ve mappedits controler buttons:

I do a lot of songwriting in the shower, so, I, was in their yesterday and this chorus popped into my head! and I’m like, I got to get out and, Jot this down.

The Jot Down Voice Memo:

Rule of thumb for me is, if it’s still in my head the next day, I’ll do something with it. Well… It was still their today, so, I pulled out my Electric guitar, and played through the instrumental, what I felt Suno could interpret for a pop, Edm, Dub track. I put the slower I’ll call them clean chugs, in to teach Suno to use arpegio, and it worked.

So I went through a couple of Suno’s takes until I found the one, wrote the rest of the Lyrics, recorded Vocals on the AI track, and through that, back into Suno, asking for Pop, Edm, Dubstep with Male and female vocs alternating on the vs, and got back? This.

That? is a fuckin jam.

Merry Christmas y’all! I’m coming at you from the in-laws! waaay out in the country! Dad, has an incredible model train set! with tunnels , that go through walls, painted seenry, and more I got as a gift, a train car, called, Roosters Jug Band. It’s got a Bluetooth speaker, built-in! I started using Airplay 2 after I got that Sony receiver last year. It took some time for the full benifit of the wireless streaming option to kick in mentally for me, but when they did, I rairly used Bluetooth, accept for private listening over Airpods.

Airplay 2, from iOS with Voiceover.

Just a couple years ago, we gained better control of our handsets Voiceover and media aueio over Bluetooth, being able to leave Voiceover volume over the handsets speaker, without it yelling or drasticly changing volume, however, with a Bluetooth destination connected, you can only change media volume with the volume buttons on the handset. Airplay 2, takes this a step further allowing you to change Voiceover volume when it is speaking, and media volume when it is not. Their is no odd pops over the handset speaker, and, you can also use Bluetooth for speach, if you first have your airpods connected, for example. You may also take and make phone and Facetime calls and the media over airplay doesn’t stop, or break up. It much feels like your not using your handset to play the media at all.

Multiroom:

If you have multiple Airplay receivers, such as the Wiim devices, you may play media to all the airplay 2 devices in your home, in multiple rooms. You also, can have your handset across the house and use a receiver, or speaker far away. As long as you have a good wifi signal, Airplay will go, where your phone does not.In my opinion, the audio is also better quality over Airplay 2, than Bluetooth.

Transmitting over Airplay:

Apple and airplay go hand in hand, but it can get a bit more tricky when you want to transmit from another OS.Also, Apple does not natively receive. For Windows, you may use an app called Tuneblade for transmission. This windows app also, has a remote app for iOS. It is really neat, if you have a home radio station up, that you leave playing all the time, as Tuneblade, transmits whatever your default audio device is playing on the PC. As long as the app is open, you don’t need to touch the computer. Tuneblade on the Windows side is mostly accessible, you see the volume sliders per speaker, and you tab past this for the button to enable the receiveing device. You can not, with JAWS, or NVDA, register the software. You will either need to have sighted assist, or, use the app Viewpoint, an AI app that creates an accessible UI, from a UI, that is otherwise inaccessible, that’s another post in itself, but as long as you have airplay 2 receivers, the Tuneblade remote app allows you to enable, or disable each receiver, and you can easily play in multiple rooms at a time.

For anilogue sources, their is an app called Airchord that allows you to Airplay from your iOS device, so the Microphone, or a usb audio device. I have installed it, but not played much with the app. It looks accessible.

Wiim, allows for prapriitory Multi-room audio, which, in itself, is not airplay, but it’s very similar, as long as you have, say, a Wiim Pro, and then multiple Wiim mini’s to receive. The Wiim Home app is accessible. The only thing I got hung up on, was, that you go into the Wiim Pro, to setup the listening, or receiveing sources. but the audio is in sync across rooms! and to mee the technology is very similar quality to Airplay. The Pro has rca and digital inputs and outputs. The Mini has eighth inch input and output, and optical out. These Wiim devices are powered by USB c, 5 v.

All and all, Airplay can change the way you think about home audio, and multi-room audio! It’s a very cool technology! you can transmit from iOS, Windows and anilogue sources.

Went to a train museum today. Guy outside had a hobbiest gas powered Putt-putt motor car, that rides on train rales. He started it up. Listen below! This is a 20 hp engine.

I am a fan of Ion. They make the Blockrocker,and larger powered speakers. What I really like is the suitcase on wheels aproach, which makes weeling to a gig easy. I needed to build out a smaller system for a local venue here in Denver, and the Blockrocker just didn’t have enough power to cut it.

This powered speaker has the following features:

It does come with two microphones which I have yet to test.

On the back, you have two xlr, two mic channels, quarter inch for each channel at mic level, auo eighth inch in, USB a for charging third party devices, as well as playing audio from a thumb drive. You also have 1 xlr out, to send the mix to a recorder or another speaker. Bluetooth is included to stream audio from a smartphone.

How is the sound? Very loud! and clean. No sub bass, but it sounds full. Nice bass and trebel seperation.

How is the eas of use? There is one multifunction knob on the back. It has click stops. It starts out on main volume. Press it once, Mic1, Twice, Mic2, 3 times, Source. There is also EQ in the mix to adjust bass treb, I don’t remember where that is in the sequence. If you leave the knob alone for 5 seconds it reverts back to master volume which is really helpful.

I didn’t think it would be convenient at all for mixing on the fly, so brought a mixing concel into the setup.

I’d never heard of this brand before, but, the board had a lot of features for the price. It seems built very well. It uses sliders for each channel vs a volume knob for the pot. Above the sliders are your standard knobs. It does sport UsB audio. I have figured out playback, not recording. There is a USB knob on the right hand side. It offers prefade, so I can hear the channel through headphones before sending it out the mains. It offers xlr outs, stereo main, one sub. It is very clean, and really matches the output power of the Ion with the volume you get from Bluetooth. When I ran a mic directly into the system, I could turn the Ion all the way up and it wasn’t much to talk about. The master on the iON goes up to 35. I can have the Ion at 12 and be above the spl output when running the board.

I run the board into Mic1. Turn Mic1 on the Ion all the way up, run the master at 12-14. Master on the board can be up a fingernail length before it starts clipping, as the Ion has mic level, not line level inputs, but as long as you remember this you may run each channel up to 0 DB no problem and it’s quite clean! I can run a guitar in without a DI box with no ground hum

I tested the system out yesterday and the venu, in an empty room and was very impressed with the results! My wife recorded with her Binaural mics, a very nice surprise as I didn’t ask her too, but it lets me hear the system from different parts of the room. I ran my Taylor direct, Shure SM58 mic for vocal. Audio examples below.

All and all I am very impressed! for the money, quite a nice sounding system! I’m looking forward to using it with the venue for years to come!
