DJay iOS using Apple Music as music source, manual cross fading

just several months ago, the ability to use Apple Music as the music source for DJay was introduced. This opens up a lot of doors for a lot of people! In the audio below, I showcase how to manually Crossfade music at the point in the song that you choose versus allowing the Apple Music standalone app or djay for that matter to choose Crossfade points.

First Overdub with Electric guitar, Mustang Micro, and h1 e

This is 5 tracks or, overdubs I believe. Mustang intoo eighth inch male, to, 2 xlr, into 2 Fantom blockers, into another patch cable 2 xlr, that terminates in another eighth inch male. Wow. All that just to block power from getting to the Mustang from the recorder. The cable is a bit bulky but, it sounds real good. Not a lot of noise from the several overdubs. I was sitting on my couch and just recording in, not even in the mind set of being in studio, just jamming. It felt very stress free for me. After I was done with guitars, I went into the Laundry room and banged on the washer for the drums. It’s not perfect, but, then

again, though, it’s not supposed to be. It’s a jam, and getting down an Idea. So easy to do, and fun, and not a lot of setup work.

First overdub using the Zoom H1e and Rode Nt4 with Taylor Acoustic

This was to easy to setup. It’s amazing how light things feel with out using a computer or Phone to track. I am also impressed with audio quality. This is just how audio went into the recorder. I did not import into computer and flip faze to solo tracks. Mic was on a short stand on coffee table in front of me. Used the Fantom Power Blockers to block plug-in power.

Zoom H1-E essential recorder audio walk-through

below is the Zoom H1-E essential recorder walk-through. This recorder was released to the public less than a week ago. This walk-through is from a blindness perspective and includes accessibility tips, a comprehensive walk-through of menus, microphone tests, in real world audio examples.

The audio is over one hour in length. I have also included a download link for the audio under the audio player so if you want to grab it so you’re not streaming in case your connection breaks you have that option.

thanks to zoom, and zoom North America for including accessibility in the essential line of recorders!

Audio captured with internal mics of the Zoom H1 Essential Recorder

Several clips below Capture with the internal mics of the H1 Essential. captured to SD card, transferred to iPhone, imported into twisted wave, volume of each clip normalized.

Traffic. light wind rumble.

A portion of a Lyft ride with a metal chick who stopped in the middle of the road to go rescue a dog wandering also in the middle of the road πŸ™‚ The recorder was turned sideways to be a bit inconspicuous. Hidden behind my backpack or, I hope so.

at work early morning, I was pretty much the only one around. Grabbing a soda from the soda machine. You hear a bit of handling noise on the recorder here.

A toilet. Say no more.

I continue to be impressed with this recorder! It’s such a piece of mind just to know it’s working. The audible beeps when the recording starts and stops is a welcome plus πŸ™‚ to not have headphones plugged in to the unit at all and knowing I’m getting what I’m recording is not something I’ve ever had before.
