New demo track: Fallen For You: Used H1-E to overdub,

So the ability to record this song so easily really confirms to me that I purchased the right Zoom Essential recorder for me. Below, are two different audios. The first, will be the Overdubs, just as they came out of the Zoom. This one, is not the entire song, but is just to compare to the second audio which is the full mix of the song.

The second audio, is a mix of the song, just how I would normally be able to do this. I was able to grab the individual stems, from the overdubs, so yes, the below is mixed from the same recordings. Let me explain.

When yu overdub with the H1E, what you do is, record your first dub, then as you overdub a second take, the first dub plays back, and in the second recording, is both the playback from recording one, and the new information that you have dubbed in. When you dub the third take, you have takes, 1,2, and 3, together. So what you can do is put say, tracks, 2, and three into Reaper, flip the faze on track three, and you are only left with track 2. You can put tracks 1 and 2 into Reaper, flip faze of track 1, and you are left with track 2. So, you are able to grab each of the stems.

I was able to, as I said above, completely mix the track as I normally would, EQ-ing each of the tracks, compression limiting, autotune on vocs. And you know what? The quality is as good as I would get going through any of my interfaces. This to me is amazing! This little H1-E really stands up as a mighty recorder when used in this way. Audio of full track below mixed.

BTSpeak Message will appear on an empty spot on an empty page of the home screen, you may have to search through your apps to find it if focus is not set to the icon.

creating your file
We will use a file called AMSG, to braille into and transport the text between your bTspeak and your iOS device.
The AMSG file name, allows the file to be at, or near the top of your file list.
This file needs to be created in your public directory.
Ultimately, this will need to be a text file, so, we may use the built in braille translater to achieve this.
The ultimate file name will be:
amsg.txt
You may create amsg.brl if you desire to braille in in your chosen translation.
Enter the Options menu with O chord, (dots 1,3,5 and space).
braille, F, (1,2,4) to navigate to your files.
Navigate down the list with (dot4 chord) until you find the, Public, directory and press enter, (dot 8) to navigate to the directory.
press c, (dots 1,4) to create the file.
Enter the file name, for example,
amsg.brl
press enter (dot 8) to create and launch the file in the Editor.
Braille in some text.
Though we may expect the BTSpeak to autosave the file, we need to save it. either with Control S, (Control, dots 1,2,4,6. S, Dots, 2,3,4. or Z chord to save and exit the file, (dots 1,3,5,6 and space).
Now navigate to the options menu, (dots 1,3,5 chord)
F for files, (dots, 1,2,4).
Down arrow, (Dot 4 Chord).
You should land on amsg.brl
Braille T, (dots 2,3,4,5), to enter the translater. The BTSpeak will report,
“Which format would you like to translate the file too”.
Braille T, (Dots, 2,3,4,5) to choose text.
The BTSpeak will report,
“File amsg.txt has been created.”
Press enter to navigate back to files. Note, you must press enter for the file to be created or updated.
When you translate this file in the future, as it will already exist in text format you will recieve the message,
“File ams.txt exists, Overwrite it? default is yes”.
Braill Enter (dot 8), to confirm.
The bTSpeak will report,
“File amsg.txt has been created.
Press enter (dot 8) to accept and cary on. Note: you must press enter for the file to be created or updated.
Now doubletap the BTSpeak Message shortcut to grab the text.
Navigate to the app you want to use the text in on your IPhone.
Spin the rotor to navigate to “edit”, flick down until you reach “Paste” and doubletap.
Check the edit field which has been set to verify the text copied from the iOS Pasteboard.

BtSpeak overview Audio bite-size chunks

last night I brought you my unboxing of the unit and today I figured I’d bring you some bite-size chunks of an overview. So you don’t have to listen to one long overview you can quickly find what you’re interested in and listen to something quick. Even if you’re interested in, everything is probably not more than 10 minutes.

I hadn’t heard or found a lot of audio to look at what the unit has to offer before making the purchase so I’m glad to offer that.

I figured the best thing to do is to update this post as I have new findings instead of making a bunch of new ones so that’s what I’ll do. I left the. BTSpeak sleeping for just around eight hours today and the battery drop from 100 to 50%. That is not bad. I hear there is to be an upgrade coming out soon and I will post audio of the upgrade process when the upgrade is available to me.

my case came today. Beware of the ships from outside the country, link below. It is a case for a mobile phone so to speak, but you can put pretty much anything you want in it. The dimensions are pretty close to the. BTSpeak. you cannot use the unit when it is in the case, of course. Open the mouth of the case wide before inserting the unit or removing the unit so as not to brush the keyboard. There is an Intral pocket which I have put some USB-C headphones and outer pocket where I put a USB-C charging cable.

https://a.co/d/d05J8vd

speaking of USB-C headphones, the Apple EarPods that are USB-C version work really well! They don’t block out what you’re listening to from the outside so if you’re in a class or meeting, you will still be able to hear the presentation, but you were also able to easily hear your speach from the BTSpeak. they are pretty cheap/inexpensive and lightweight. Of course the unit ships with a USB-C two, 3.5 inch adapter but if you don’t want to have an extra adapter on a pair of headphones, these are a great suggestion.

now let’s dive into some audio examples, that may be used for training and or understanding the unit before you may get one.

Lets first look at an orientation of the unit see audio below.

Lets look at the manual upgrade process of the BTSpeak, upgrading from the March 5 software version, to the March 20 Software Upgrade.

Lets next look at how easy it is to obtain context sensitive help in the unit.

Will dive into a couple of applications and show the speed of the processor in the unit.

let’s take a look at getting connected to Wi-Fi and dictionary application.

let’s take a look at using text brailed into the BTSpeak on other devices. Current implementation of the feature made possible by Drew Weber.

BTSpeak! New Feature: Sharing text, Brailled into the BTSpeak with your iOS device!

here’s how we may use FileBrowser on iOS to gain access to the BTSpeak directory and file structure.

let’s take a look at review mode, how it works in the operating system, and dive into a website in Lynx browser.

May 2024 update: introduces more synthesizers, and voices! audio demo below.

finally enclosing out this post, let’s take a look at a few things that are similar between the BTSpeak of now, and Braille N Speak Of Past.

My first look and unboxing: Blazie Technologies BTSpeak Notetaker

if you remember the braille N speak of old, you fell in love with it and have missed it for years? Me too!! We now have an updated model, complete with USB-C port and microSD storage. The all new. BTSpeak from Blazie Technologies is now shipping. Mine just came today and I want to give you a quick look at an unboxing and quick demo of the unit.

DJay iOS using Apple Music as music source, manual cross fading

just several months ago, the ability to use Apple Music as the music source for DJay was introduced. This opens up a lot of doors for a lot of people! In the audio below, I showcase how to manually Crossfade music at the point in the song that you choose versus allowing the Apple Music standalone app or djay for that matter to choose Crossfade points.

First Overdub with Electric guitar, Mustang Micro, and h1 e

This is 5 tracks or, overdubs I believe. Mustang intoo eighth inch male, to, 2 xlr, into 2 Fantom blockers, into another patch cable 2 xlr, that terminates in another eighth inch male. Wow. All that just to block power from getting to the Mustang from the recorder. The cable is a bit bulky but, it sounds real good. Not a lot of noise from the several overdubs. I was sitting on my couch and just recording in, not even in the mind set of being in studio, just jamming. It felt very stress free for me. After I was done with guitars, I went into the Laundry room and banged on the washer for the drums. It’s not perfect, but, then

again, though, it’s not supposed to be. It’s a jam, and getting down an Idea. So easy to do, and fun, and not a lot of setup work.
