Airpods Max? Hear them for yourself! Real World Binaural Audio examples!

The Airpods Max, are truly the most immersive best sounding headphones, I’ve ever heard. Where they really seem to shine, is in the arena of 3D audio, and Binaural recordings. I have personally never heard playback more true to life from my Binaural recordings. Though this isn’t a text review of these cans, I did want to say that, and, that they do seem to boost the highs a bit. The bass, I don’t really think it’s boosted, it’s just present and really there, especially the sub bass. With that out of the way, lets listen to some examples.

Please understand that I suggest you listen back to the following audio on headphones, or earbuds, not speakers. If you have the Airpods pro, 1 or 2, they should work just fine. I’ve also played these back through the JBl Tune headphones and they represent 3D audio quite well. It truly is going to matter how well your headphones represent the sound stage. No headphones that we play this back over, will sound as good as the Max, and because the recordings were captured with the max and these cans boosts the highs, and naturally isn’t flatt freq response, this won’t sound super great played back again over them.

Captured with Airpods Max at full volume, into the Sound Pro’s Master Series In-Ear Microphones, into the Zoom H1 Essential recorder. Mics worn under the headphones with the Max noise canceling on.

We’ll start with movies. Apple has done an incredible job translating 5.1 dTS mixes to Binaural Stereo. It’s bar none, the best I’ve heard.

Twister Clip.

Pearl Harbor Clip.

Music. Lossless Apple Music examples, 2 channel stereo, not using Apples 3D DTS. I tried to pick several popular genre’s.

So, if you are impressed with that audio, you will be 5 or 10 times more impressed with the actual Airpods Max. They are truly out of this world amazing.

Small, digital FM radio, that plays mp3’s from flashdrives!

so I’ve been reading about these for probably six years and never pulled the trigger because they all seem risky. Luckily, I guess it was my day for a win! Because this little guy really is worth the money. They’re pretty cheap just about 20 to 25 bucks off of Amazon. I butcher the name in the audio, so this radio is actually called:

LEFON Multifunction Digital FM Radio Media Speaker MP3 Music Player Support TF Card USB Drive with LED Screen Display and Setting Timing Shutdown Function (Red),

Downey, instant refresh commercial: autotune, the way it shouldn’t be

so I hear this commercial probably 10 times a day at work. It’s a ironic funny take off the Backstreet Boys song, I want it that way.

so let’s get geeky for a minute. The song was recorded in the key of a, the commercial, they’re trying to do it in the key of G Sharp. I say trying, because of the fact that the first solo voice that is talking back to the lady that is smelling the shirt, is a bit sharp of G sharp. then, they come back in with a huge chorus of people singing the song, and it’s closer to G sharp. So every time I hear it, it drives me up the wall! So, I auto tuned it. Before we get there, though, here is the original commercial without any autotune the way it’s meant to be heard.

so, either, you are now pissed at me for sharing this with you because you are as well annoyed, or maybe it doesn’t phase you. The last bunch, you are lucky 🙂 my question is, why didn’t they do both of the singing takes in one session. And of course, why didn’t they autotune it! So now we’re there. This is honestly obviously just to be pretty funny. I don’t think that the commercial should actually sound like this. However things are of course closer to G sharp all around. It’s funny to hear people talk with auto tune on and of course I did it as hard as I could. ! Enjoy, the autotune version of the commercial.

now, before I go, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say, go buy you some Downey products.

do you sing karaoke or cover music? Demoing the Lagato Bluetooth page Turner pedal

pretty cool, small pedal that emulates several key strokes, such as up-and-down arrows, left and right arrows, page up and page down. Connect this to your iPhone, and you can use Apple Music lyrics to have lyrics at your finger or in your ear as you’re singing. I have a USB version of something similar, but this takes the cake! audio, demo below.

Nashville: Day4

Missed um all? Where were you? 🥲 I was in Nashville. Catch up below:

Day4: This page, This post:

thanks for everybody’s patience. Yesterday was a day of flying in airports, Friday was pretty busy. Didn’t capture anything on the H1 essential to post.

so technically, in this series of audio posts, this is the last day in Nashville. I do have 8 to 10 hours of recordings that were captured using my binaural mics that I’m going to take some time and edit some sections out of. I would expect we may have one to three hours of content from them. That should be coming, in the next couple of weeks or few weeks whatever happens. This though, was the first bar that we ended up in on Monday night, music city bar and Grill. We liked it so much that we went back on Thursday night grab some beers and listen to some music.

two bands, the first band had their sound set up right and sounded amazing! Several clips from them.

Clip4:

The second band, it wasn’t that they weren’t good, sure the first band may have been a bit better, but the second did not have a good sound setup. They were tweaking things and scrambling trying to get things set up as they were playing. The biggest deal to me is that I was half drunk, and it was basically bedtime, and there was no life because there was no kick drum mic. The drums weren’t mic’d at all, so we didn’t stay for much of them.

i’m gonna look through the pictures that we took and see about any ofthem, that may have really cool descriptions. I’ll create another post just for the picture descriptions because I think that it is really interesting. Pictures of different bars and different places we were at in Nashville.

Daaaamn. Lower broadway, is the Jam, or, uh, lots o jams!!!! Here we go, walking down Broadway, (Binaural)

Here are a few clips, in bars, cover bands, H1-E internals.

Bar 1-1

Second bar, is Kid Rock’s. We were walking on the other side of the street and they were playing Rage! I was like WTF? So, we went in. Main Lead singer is a chick. F**k she has a voice! Think this first clip another singer may be singing.

So the lead singer, she was walking around to the different tables, with her tip jar. I met her, threw her some cash, and asked if she would sing some AIC!!! Oh my freakin word. She did! aaaaaaaaah!!!!!!
