Learned about this little device on friday, There are several versions. The pro will allow you to both transmit, and receive. Amazon could get me the pro, overnight by Saturday, so, I pulled the trigger.

What does it look like?

It’s small, easily fits into a pants pocket. On one end, we have a USB C port, if we put this port at the top, and we come down on the face of the device, we have one, round button on the face. This, is the power button. With the device still in this position, on the left side, we have, coming down from the top, a very small switch, This comes stock in the up position, which is transmit. If you flip this down, it will place the device in receive mode. Below this switch, there is a very small button. This is used to reset the device, so that it may pair with another Bluetooth headphone. On the bottom of the device, we have a very short 1 inch thin cable that terminates in an eighth inch mail plug. That is all of the physical buttons, switches, and plugs on the device.

Why do we need it?

When I get up in the morning, I always put my Airpods pro, second gen in my pocket, I always have them with me. What I don’t have with me, is a pair of wired earbuds. Maybe I have a set in my bakcpack, but I can almost guarantee you, they are wrapped up in about 3 USB cables, I can’t pull them out at a seconds notice. If I could, I always have the fear that the cable will get tangled, especially if I am standing at an ATM machine with my white cane. This device solves all that with pleasantry. If you have it paired with your airpods, you can, put your airpods in, turn on the device, they will connect, and then you can plug the dongle into the A T M and listen to all the spoken audio prompts.

The above, is just one use case that I feel is really unique, and, why anyone who is blind, may want this device with them at all times. You don’t have any tangled wires, but you do have a very clear listening experience. The delay is less than half a second with my Airpods.

Most Bluetooth speakers have an Aux port but this, is easier than that, as you don’t have to have a long cable, or leave the wired device on the ground or table by the speaker. The device source volume controls the volume to the Airpods, but speakers, may have there own volume that you can use. I will say that the device sets the Bluetooths volume level quite high on speakers, so start low on the source.

when having a device and receive mode, you are able to use it as a receiver for wired headphones to make them Bluetooth. It gets quite loud so watch it! Again, the source is going to be what controls the volume. When in receive mode and you turn the device on, you will hear several tones, letting you know that device is booted, and then two tones. Let you know if the device is in pairing mode.

The range is quite good. transmission goes through walls, and doors. I can easily plug this into the line level output of my turntable, and listen to records on my JBL Boombox on my patio!

Pairing two sets of Headphones, or a throw together multi-room listening setup? is also a breeze. We of course have a small delay between speakers, that if you are using headphones with another person you of course wouldn’t notice.

All and all I am very impressed. For the price, I’d say it’s worth it. We are to get 20+ hours per charge. To grab one for yourself hit the below link.
